Frontier is a new type of AI-native analyst firm for CIOs and technology leaders — made equally of deeply experienced humans and machine-scale intelligence.
Frontier starts from a different assumption: AI changes not only what technology leaders need to understand, but how serious research should be created, packaged, distributed, and put to work.
01
The hottest edge of enterprise IT.
Frontier concentrates on the technology shifts that are changing enterprise operating models now — AI, agents, infrastructure, software, data, cybersecurity, architecture, and the evolving CIO mandate. We go where the consequences are largest and the answers are still forming.
02
Human judgment × machine-scale intelligence.
Frontier is built around a new division of labor. Deeply experienced analysts provide judgment, context, skepticism, relationships, and accountability. AI expands the field of view: monitoring, connecting evidence, testing hypotheses, modeling scenarios, and making the resulting intelligence dramatically easier to use.
03
Research without a fixed container.
A Frontier report is not the end state of the research. It is one rendering of a deeper body of structured intelligence. The same evidence can become a full report, a custom executive brief, a board presentation, a data extract, or governed machine-readable intelligence that flows directly into enterprise applications and AI agents. Clients should not have to consume research in the form we happened to publish it.
04
A network, not an analyst pyramid.
Frontier is assembling a closely-held network of exceptional senior analysts rather than a large hierarchy. The model is intentionally selective: world-class specialists with real operating context, connected by a common research system and amplified by AI.
THE FRONTIER RESEARCH MODEL
Research should be as portable as code, as explorable as software, and as authoritative as the best analysis has always been.
Frontier is building research as living intelligence: structured, traceable, adaptable, and designed to move cleanly from human reading into the systems where decisions are actually made.
02THE FRONTIER NETWORK / PEOPLE
Closely held by design
Small network. Serious range.
Frontier is being built around a compact network of leading analysts with deep domain authority. Every person should materially expand the firm's field of view.
CHIEF RESEARCH OFFICERDion Hinchcliffe
Dion Hinchcliffe is a veteran technology strategist and industry analyst with more than 25 years at the intersection of enterprise technology, digital transformation, CIO leadership, and emerging technology. He has built and led research practices, advised senior technology executives, authored widely read analysis, and served in public-company governance.
At Frontier, he leads the research agenda, the analyst network, and the design of an AI-native research model intended to make high-quality analysis more useful, adaptable, and operational inside the enterprise.
We are deliberately building the network slowly. These are the next senior roles Frontier expects to add.
